The role
This role exists to turn data into decisions that grow revenue.
Sitting within the Sales team, the Category & Insights Manager owns category insight and converts complex data into clear, persuasive category plans that influence range reviews, distribution and commercial outcomes.
This is a hands-on role with regular customer exposure. You will be expected to stand in front of retailers, sell the story and back it with evidence. The focus is on outcomes, not analysis for its own sake.
You will partner closely with Sales, Marketing and Innovation and play a lead role in shaping category direction across grocery and pharmacy.
Key responsibilities

Build and deliver commercially focused, market-leading category plans grounded in high-quality insights

Analyse category, shopper and performance data to identify growth opportunities

Translate complex datasets into clear, customer-ready category and range review presentations

Lead category reviews and range discussions with grocery and pharmacy customers

Feed the Sales team with insight that improves decision-making and execution

Partner with Marketing and Innovation on NPD from a category and revenue lens

Manage relationships with data and insight agencies
About you
You will bring

Proven experience in FMCG category management and or insights

Strong hands-on capability with tools such as Circana, dunnhumby and Quantium

Experience working across grocery and or pharmacy channels

A track record of turning complex data into clear, commercially effective category stories

Confidence presenting to customers and influencing senior stakeholders

Strong commercial judgement and analytical rigour
Experience working across complex FMCG portfolios, including multi SKU brands and multiple categories within grocery and or pharmacy.
