The Role:
As a Data Engineer, you’ll support the Data Architecture stream in delivering effective enterprise data management across the organisation. You’ll play a key role in co-designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data assets, systems, and data integration pipelines - helping ensure data is accessible, reliable, and optimised to support decision-making and strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse, organise, and combine raw data from multiple sources
- Build, maintain, and optimise data systems, pipelines, and integration processes
- Conduct complex data analysis and interpret trends and patterns
- Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling, and develop analytical tools, algorithms, and prototypes
- Explore ways to enhance data quality, reliability, and identify opportunities for data acquisition
- Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and wider digital teams to deliver high-quality data solutions
Key Requirements:
- Strong hands-on coding capability, particularly Python, with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience building and maintaining data pipelines, systems, and integrations
- Experience with cloud data technologies, including Azure Synapse (essential)
- Ability to prepare and transform data for modelling and advanced analytics
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with analysts, architects, and the wider digital team
