Te whiwhinga mahi – The opportunity
The Sport Integrity Commission is Aotearoa New Zealand’s new independent Crown entity established to ensure experiences are safer and fairer across the sport and recreation system. The Commission commenced on 1 July 2024, bringing together anti-doping, dispute resolution, safeguarding, investigations, learning and capability building into a unified national organisation.
The Director – Enablement is a critical new role in the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for building and leading the internal systems and services that will support the Commission’s delivery and long-term sustainability. This is a high-impact, executive-level opportunity to design and implement the organisational foundations of a future-focused Crown entity.
This includes leading a full review of the Commission’s technology and systems landscape and delivering a new digital and information strategy, reshaping our communications and community engagement function, and establishing a high-performing business services group aligned to the Commission’s operating needs and values.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi – About this role
As Director – Enablement, you will lead a diverse portfolio of functions including:
- People and culture
- Communications and engagement (internal and external)
- Technology and systems
- Finance and organisational planning
- Business services, facilities and workplace operations
- Internal governance, risk, and assurance
You will have the opportunity to:
- Lead the design and delivery of a new technology and information management strategy and digital services model, enabling secure, fit-for-purpose and scalable internal systems
- Establish a refreshed communications and engagement function, responsible for participant and community-facing engagement and the development of a fit-for-purpose internal communications approach
- Ensure our people and platforms are equipped to deliver on the Commission’s purpose
- Review and build a modern business services function, capable of delivering safe, efficient, and future-ready operational support across procurement, finance, workplace services, and risk
- Champion inclusive people and culture practices, strengthen internal collaboration and ensure organisational readiness for delivery and change.
Ko wai koe – About you
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Significant executive and strategic leadership experience in corporate services, systems, communications or public sector enablement
- A successful track record leading people, culture, internal operations or technology teams through change
- Deep understanding of public sector frameworks, governance, assurance and accountability requirements
- Strong cultural competence and commitment to te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A collaborative, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to lead with influence and integrity.
