About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity in Wellington to join a market leading business in a newly created role. Reporting directly to the CFO, and working alongside our wider finance team, this is a hands-on and high-impact position. You’ll lead on IFRS compliance, technical reporting, board and investor reporting, statutory accounts, and play a key role in our audit process.
You’ll become the subject-matter expert for technical accounting and financial governance, while also supporting broader compliance activity across the group.
This role is central to how we present ourselves to the market, our board, and our investors. You’ll be responsible for leading the preparation of half-year and year-end financial statements, both at an individual entity level and across our consolidated group structure. With a growing international footprint and increasing reporting demands, your work will ensure our financials are accurate, polished, and fully aligned with external expectations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the preparation of half-year and year-end financial statements (individual and consolidated)
- Drive quarterly, annual, and market reporting
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and evolving accounting standards
- Liaise with external auditors and coordinate audit delivery
- Support investor and Board reporting in collaboration with FP&A
- Partner with legal and governance teams on statutory and compliance requirements
- Provide oversight on tax implications (incl. transfer pricing)
- Improve internal controls and support finance team efficiency
About You:
You’re a technically strong finance professional who thrives on structure, clarity, and getting the detail right. You bring deep IFRS knowledge and a strong track record in preparing financial statements, managing audits, and supporting listed or group businesses. You may have started in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm or already be in-house in a complex or fast-growing environment.
You see reporting as more than compliance; it’s a strategic tool. You enjoy untangling complex accounting issues, writing technical papers, and working closely with auditors, advisors, and senior stakeholders. You’ve led or supported group consolidations, are strong in Excel, and comfortable across systems (Xero and HubSpot experience is a bonus).
You’re precise but pragmatic, calm under pressure, organised, and deadline focused. But you’re also commercial, collaborative, and trusted to deliver, someone who contributes positively to team culture and takes pride in their work.
We are ideally looking some someone who has the following:
- CA qualified with strong IFRS technical capability
- 5+ years' post-qualified experience, ideally in a group or listed environment
- Experience leading financial statement preparation and audits
- Comfortable working across international entities and currencies
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial info to varied audiences
- High attention to detail, methodical approach, and strong Excel skills
- SaaS industry exposure preferred (but not essential)
- A collaborative mindset, and ability to work well in a warm, tight-knit team
If you are excited about an opportunity to make a tangible impact in a critical role with an innovative, fast growing company this role is for you!
