Belron is the global parent of a portfolio of trusted service brands operating across automotive, home and trade services. In New Zealand, Laser Plumbing & Electrical operates a national, franchise-style network supporting owner-operated businesses across plumbing and electrical services.

Belron New Zealand is now seeking a General Manager to lead the continued development and growth of the Laser Plumbing & Electrical business.

The role

As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the performance, growth and integrity of the Laser Plumbing & Electrical network in New Zealand. The role requires a balance of commercial leadership, operational discipline and strong engagement across a diverse base of owner-operators and strategic partners.

Key accountabilities include:

• Leading and evolving a national franchise network, supporting sustainable growth and performance for both owner / operators and Belron
• Driving expansion through new franchises, increased market share and new service offerings
• Ensuring consistent application of the Laser operating model, commercial disciplines and system compliance
• Building effective partnerships with key suppliers and industry stakeholders
• Leading a national operations and sales team, working closely with centralised finance, people and support functions
• Translating strategy into practical initiatives that strengthen the network and deliver measurable outcomes

The role reports to the Managing Director, Belron New Zealand, and is a member of the New Zealand senior leadership team.

About you

You will be a commercially grounded leader with experience operating within a franchise, member-based or distributed services environment.

• Senior leadership experience within a franchise, multi-site or owner-operator business model
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability, with the confidence to address complex or sensitive issues constructively
• A track record of driving growth while maintaining operational and financial discipline
• The ability to engage effectively with business owners of varying scale and maturity
• A practical, systems-oriented mindset, with the ability to think ahead and strengthen business models over time
• Experience leading national teams and working across functional boundaries
