The Company

This high-profile NZX-listed tech company empowers people to connect, explore, and innovate across multiple global markets. Known for relentless innovation, it is pushing boundaries to create life-changing technologies.

Role Overview

This newly created role, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), carries full accountability for shaping and leading the organisation’s global risk and quality function. You will set the strategic direction for both disciplines, working closely with the global Research and Development function and aligning efforts with the broader manufacturing strategy.

You will lead the development of a world-class quality framework focused on excellence and continuous improvement, while embedding a future-focused risk framework that supports innovation and strengthens organisational resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the global quality function, setting direction and ensuring consistent delivery of standards across all sites.
  • Develop and execute a global quality strategy, focused on governance, control, cost efficiency, and performance.
  • Standardise and enhance risk and quality systems globally, embedding ownership, accountability, and best practice across the business.
  • Establish robust Quality Assurance governance, including metrics and routines, with a focus on Cost of Quality and Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Lead the global continuous improvement programme, integrating Lean, Six Sigma, and quality initiatives to drive efficiency and product excellence.
  • Drive environmental and sustainability risk initiatives, aligned with ISO 14001 and evolving global ESG expectations.
  • Oversee global quality budgeting and capital investment planning, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals.
  • Partner with senior leadership, including the COO and Global Head of Manufacturing, to monitor performance, manage risk, and identify opportunities for innovation.
About You

You bring 15+ years of experience, ideally in manufacturing, with a proven ability to lead diverse, geographically dispersed teams across risk and quality. Equally adept at setting strategy and managing operational delivery, you thrive in complex, cross-functional environments.

Your strong business acumen and advanced data analytics capability enable you to drive improvement and identify future trends. A confident communicator and compelling storyteller, you engage multicultural teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

You are commercially minded, customer-focused, and results-driven. Your deep understanding of business management frameworks—particularly ISO 9001 and its risk-based thinking principles—will be critical, along with your ability to lead environmental and sustainability risk initiatives aligned to ISO 14001 and broader ESG standards.
