  • Visible role working closely with leaders on high‑risk and sensitive people matters.

A well-established organisation is seeking a Senior HR Advisor to join its experienced people team and provide high quality, pragmatic HR support across a complex operating environment.

This role is suited to an HR professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, working closely with leaders, and navigating challenging people matters with sound judgement and confidence.

The role
Working as part of a broader HR function, you will provide hands on advisory support across the full employee lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting and applying employment legislation, policies and procedures
  • Contributing to the development and review of HR policies and frameworks
  • Identifying risks and improvement opportunities across people practices and processes
  • Building effective working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
This is a role where professional judgement, clear communication, and follow through are critical.

About you
You’ll be an experienced HR generalist with a strong operational foundation and the confidence to advise at a senior level. To be successful, you will bring:
  • Solid experience in a senior HR advisory role within a complex or regulated environment
  • Demonstrated expertise managing difficult ER and performance matters end to end
  • Practical knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation
  • A calm, solutions focused approach and the ability to work independently
  • Strong written advice skills and the confidence to have robust conversations
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Why consider this role?
This position offers the opportunity to work in a stable, professional organisation where HR is valued for its expertise, judgement and delivery. You’ll be part of a capable team, exposed to a broad range of people matters, and able to make a tangible impact through your advice and actions.
